The FreeZone Plus 2.5 Liter Cascade Benchtop Freeze Dry System has a small footprint and reaches -84°C for processing samples with low eutectic points. Its upright stainless steel collector coil can remove 1.8 liters of water in 24 hours and holding 2.5 liters of ice before defrosting is necessary. The FreeZone 2.5 Liter Cascade Benchtop System is suitable for small sample loads or dedicated use by one researcher. The user may select the LCD to display vacuum in mBar, Pa or Torr and temperature in °C or °F. The LCD also displays alarm messages and service information such as hours of refrigeration and vacuum pump operation.
Other features include a moisture sensor that protects the vacuum pump by preventing start up when moisture is detected in the collector chamber area and vacuum break valve that protects the system against oil backstreaming. Optional Teflon®-coated collector chamber and coil is for processes involving corrosive compounds. Domestic or international electrical configurations are available.
Required accessories include rotary vane direct drive vacuum pumps with a displacement of at least 86 lpm, 0.002 mBar ultimate pressure and a fitting suitable for 3/4” ID vacuum hose as well as a drying chamber or manifold and freeze dry glassware if not bulk freezing.
